Restaurants open on New Year’s Day – The Bitbag

New Year is a time to go out and celebrate the festivities and since it’s a holiday a number of restaurants are usually closed. So we here look at the best ones that are right for you to go out and dine.

According to Inquisitr the following restaurant chains will be open this New Year. Though people should call before hand to confirm the timing because some of them may close early.

Dunkin’ Donuts

Hardee’s

Jack in the Box
McDonald’s
Old Country Buffet

New Year is also a federal holiday so it is likely many of the restaurants and shops you frequent may be shut down. Global Banking rates meanwhile has listed the several restaurants and retail stores will be open on the New Year:

Restaurants open on New Year’s Day 2016:

Denny’s: Open 24 hours or normal business hours.
Applebee’s: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Starbucks: Open normal business hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., but some locations might open later.
Pizza Hut: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
McDonald’s: Will open late and close at the normal business hour.
Burger King: Will open late and close at the normal business hour.
Olive Garden: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
KFC: Open normal business hours from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Ruby Tuesday: Open normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
TGIF: Open normal business hours from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.  

 

Retail stores open on New Year’s Day 2016:

Walmart: All 24-hour locations will resume normal business hours, but other locations might open late or close early.
Target: Open normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., but some stores may open later.
Walgreens: Open 24 hours or normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Toys “R” Us: Open normal business hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Rite Aid: Open normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Lowe’s: Open normal business hours from 6 a.m to 9 p.m., but some stores might open later.
IKEA: Open normal business hours from 10 a.m to 9 p.m., but some stores might close earlier.
CVS: Open 24 hours or normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

 

Grocery stores open on New Year’s Day 2016:

Albertsons: Open normal business hours from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Whole Foods: Open normal business hours from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Kroger: Open normal business hours from 6 a.m. to Midnight.
Meijer: Open normal business hours, or 24 hours.
Wegmans: Opens at 7 a.m. and has normal closing hours.
Publix: Opens at 7 a.m., but some stores might close earlier.

 

Stores closing early on New Year’s Day 2016:

Best Buy: Open until 7 p.m.
Bed Bath and Beyond: Open until 6 p.m.
BJ’s: Open until 7 p.m.
The Home Depot: Open until 5 p.m
