I didn’t even know if I was going to do it 100 per cent because I wanted to make sure it was going to be a perfect moment,” said DiCicco, 25. “I had the ring on me and I really wanted to do it at the square, but I know the atmosphere in the square can change if the Leafs are losing. I wanted it to be memorable.”As the Capitals jumped out to a 3-1 lead, DiCicco thought it might not be the night. But goals by Nazem Kadri and William Nylander toward the end of the second period changed everything, and with time winding down in the third, he knew this was his chance.“It was perfect,” he said. “I just went for it.”
