'American Horror Story' Season 7: Ryan Murphy Drops New Hints

Warning: This article may contain American Horror Story Season 7 spoilers. American Horror Story fans have been clamoring for Season 7 spoilers ever since series creator Ryan Murphy said that it would focus on the 2016 presidential election. As Inquisitr previously reported, Murphy made the surprising announcement during a February appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” he said. When asked if President Donald Trump would make an appearance on the show, Murphy said, “Maybe.” During a PaleyFest panel a few weeks later, AHS executive producer Tim Minear explained how the unusual American Horror Story Season 7 election theme was chosen. “At the beginning of every season, in order to secure the tax benefit, you have to give a synopsis of what you’re doing,” Minear said. “That was not okay with Ryan, but we had to give them something, so we made up this completely batsh-t thing for those two paragraphs and the funny thing is, we’re doing it this year.” After that disclosure, things became pretty quiet on the Season 7 spoiler front — until now. American Horror Story Season 7 is about to begin filming, and Murphy has started leaving a cryptic clues about the theme on his Instagram account. In a hint posted on May 18, the showrunner put up a photo of the back of someone’s blue-dyed hair, writing, “AHS Season 7: Red, white and blue clue.” AHS Season 7: Red, white and blue clue A post shared by Ryan Murphy (@mrrpmurphy) on May 17, 2017 at 9:54pm PDT Bloody Disgusting speculated that the person in the photo may be long-time AHS actor Evan Peters, which would make sense. Peters is one of several actors known to be signed for American Horror Story Season 7, and the Daily Mail recently published pics of Peters and his girlfriend, Emma Roberts, roaming New York City that showed his hair is currently a similar length to that of the person pictured in Murphy’s post. The blue hair clue comes two weeks after Murphy posted a terrifying sketch of an elephant with a twisted clown-like grin, calling it simply, “An American Horror Story Season 7 tease.” One could assume the elephant is meant to represent the symbol of the Republican Party, but exactly what Murphy has in mind for the Season 7 plot is anyone’s guess at this point. Congrats Ms Leslie G!” Grossman has not previously appeared on AHS, but she worked with Murphy on Popular and Nip/Tuck. In addition to Peters and Grossman, Sarah Paulson, Billy Eichner and Billie Lourd have also been signed for Season 7. AHS alum Angela Bassett has not yet been confirmed for the new season, but she told TooFab that she is “trying to balance” her busy schedule so she can join the cast. She also said that American Horror Story Season 7 may have a hard time matching the craziness that has gone down in Trump’s White House so far. “Well I certainly am glued to CNN more than I ever have been in my life,” Bassett said of Trump’s presidency. “I don’t know if we can keep up with what really goes on but I think we, with our family, with Ryan [Murphy], Brad Falchuck and our family, we certainly have a chance to draw some of those eyeballs. It’s gonna be wild. Life imitating art, art imitating life, which way are we doing it? Which way is it going?” What do you think of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story Season 7 hints?
